Today, the Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion, announced an additional $118.2 million over seven years for Phase 2 of the Federal Community Housing Initiative to protect affordability for residents. These investments form part of the National Housing Strategy, which seeks to build affordable housing units for people from coast to coast. These funds will support 18,000 community housing units for low-income residents.

Affordable housing has always and will continue to be a priority for me because I believe that every Canadian deserves a safe and affordable place to call home. I will continue to champion affordable housing options for residents in our riding and look forward to seeing these funds help support our community.
